Do HR leaders need degrees?

 Welcomes You...

"If there was ever a time to underscore the importance of HR, it has arrived. And sadly, if there was ever a time to see how few companies get HR right, it has arrived, too...If their company is in a crisis – or their own career – perhaps they've at last seen the light. HR matters enormously in the good times. It defines you in the bad."          — Jack Welch, Business Week, March 12, 2009

Peter has a slot on Dublin City FM
103.2FM
www.dublincityfm.ie  starting on Thursday 8 April and running until Thursday 1 July from 3 - 3:30pm, called The Changing Workplace. It is sponsored by Dundalk Institute of Technology (DKIT) and will look at supporting SMEs, in a positive manner, through exploring;

  • How SMEs can encourage creativity in the workplace.
  • How SMEs can support a learning culture.

The show is mainly aimed at SMEs but there is also a lot in it for larger businesses, employees and those seeking employment.

Over the 13 weeks I will be speaking to a panel of entrepreneurs, experienced business people and employees, where each will give us the benefit of their experience and explain how they feel it should be approached. In so doing we will be looking at a number of different areas such as;

  • Employment Law
  • Contracts of Employment
  • Recruitment
  • Coaching
  • Work-Life Balance
  • Performance Management
  • Training & Learning
  • Equality & Diversity
  • Leadership
  • Aligning skills

He also runs a number of “Introduction to HRM” courses at colleges of Further Education in Dublin. In his free time he mentors students at Dundalk IT.

Peter has over 12 years experience working in Human Resource Management and Training. In Germany and Italy he worked with companies such as Daimler Chrysler and Banca Commerciale Italiane, training staff and middle managers in Business English communication. Since returning to Ireland he has worked in HRM for organisations such as Dorset College, Meteor Mobile and ADS Ltd.
